Here are 5 of the best health websites on the web:

The Metabolism Society

Headed by Dr. Richard Feinman, professoer of cellular biology at SUNY Downstate medical school, this is the go to site when you want to find out scientifically founded information on many subjects. Ditch the ADA, ADtA, USDA and most other similar organizations and opt for the Metabolism Society instead.

Weston A. Price Foundation

From the site:

“The Weston A. Price Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity founded in 1999 to disseminate the research of nutrition pioneer Dr. Weston Price, whose studies of isolated nonindustrialized peoples established the parameters of human health and determined the optimum characteristics of human diets. Dr. Price’s research demonstrated that humans achieve perfect physical form and perfect health generation after generation only when they consume nutrient-dense whole foods and the vital fat-soluble activators found exclusively in animal fats.”

Heart Scan Blog

Bill Davis, M.D is a talented and brilliant cardiologist whose blog is a wealth of scientifically sound and insightful health information. If you or a loved one have cardiac issues, Dr. Davis is the man.

Protein Power Blog

Micheal R. Eades M.D. my friend and co-author scribes this information dense blog that will turn your brain into a super computer of health knowledge. Dr. Eades has an uncanny ability to ferret out the nonsense in the health and fitness field leaving you with what is actually so about a subject. Before you believe any health study, check his blog to see if he’s dissected it.

Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Blog

Jimmy Moore’s highly informative and podcast driven blog offers a wealth of info on low carb living. His interviews are fantastic and you can’t help but feel his passion and drive to assist people in adopting and living a low carb, healthy life style.

I've been involved in exercise ever since I became a member of The Charles Atlas Club when I was 10 years old. In 1998, I founded and established Serious Strength on the Upper West Side of NYC. My clients include kids, seniors (and everyone in between), top CEOs, celebrities, bestselling authors, journalists and TV personalities.

And why didn’t you include your own in this listing? I do!

Hi Fred, what is your opinion on the “Shake
Weight”, have you seen it? It’s a dumbell that claims you can build muscle just by shaking it.

Fred Hahn September 7, 2010 at 8:44 AM

Kathy – Well, seems weird to promote yourself that way.

Mark – Shae weight? C’mon! :)

darn, you didn’t take the bate. :)

Got here from Dr. William’s blog. Looking forward to perusing your site over the next few days….looks like lots of great info. FYI – the link to The Metabolism Society isn’t working, and the blog, Weight of the Evidence, looks like it has moved and hasn’t been updated in a few years.

I’m curious about your photos…all very handsome, but just wondering which is the current you? You seem thinner on the Healthy Kids book and your profile pic looks more “grok”. :-)

Fred Hahn September 10, 2010 at 8:20 AM

Patty thank you for pointing out those errors on the site and for reading it! I do hope you find the info helpful.

And, of course, thank you for the compliment. The current me is leaner. And I never liked the pic of me on the SKHK book. It sort of makes me look a bit frail and pasty.

What does “grok” mean?

Patty September 10, 2010 at 8:51 AM

It means strong, primal, unpolluted by processed food….well, that is what I have decided it means…the opposite of frail and pasty!

Fred Hahn September 10, 2010 at 9:03 AM

Ah – why thank you!

Fred Hahn September 10, 2010 at 10:04 AM

Patty – Weight of the Evidence is working and I don’t have a link to the Metabolism Society on my blog – but I should!

Fred Hahn September 10, 2010 at 10:07 AM

Ah I found what you meant RE NMS and fixed it thanks Patty!
